DJ goes clubbin'

DJ is at a B-day party right now at a local night club. The father of the birthday boy owns the property of the club so is using that leverage to have the party there. It was odd walking into a loud, dark club smeeling of smoke & beer, with "wet t-shirt" contest posters on the wall, to drop off a 7 year old.

Needless to say I am waiting here for the party to end. The club is next to sevral other clubs and a mother of another guest said to me, "Two strippers were shot over there 2 years ago over a bad drug deal."

Gotta love Army towns.

ACU Velcro(tm)

One problem i have with the "new" Army Combat Uniforms (ACU) is the velcro longevity. Two spot where the pile half wears out quickest is the top front closure tab (left side second image) and the breast pockets (right side first image). Two weeks ago I had a sewing shop redo one set for me. It worked like a charm but cost $8. Before I left Baghdad I ordered some Velcro online and tongiht I replaced some myself. It seems to have done the trick so far.

I am considerin starting a tips & tricks with army uniforms message board or blog to allow people to share their corner-cutting, time-saving and fixing ideas for army uniforms.

PWD Modern Style

This years PWD features a totally computerized scoring system with an aluminum, four-lane track.

Last year was a three-lane wood track and four little old men with stop watches huddled around the end.

So far, DJ has raced but came in fourth in his race; overall unknowb yet. TJ is racing for him since DJ is home sick.

Blue Tooth (BT) Jog

When i was in Baghdad I had ordered an i.Clip (yeah, I know Bro!) to like through an adapter with my mp3 player and/or Palm. I could not get it to link-up. But now my Blackjack phone will and since it is also an mp3 player I was able to use them to listen to music while I ran this morning.
